CX Valve: Optimum Valve Type of Hydrogen Compressor
Hydrogen compressor needs a special valve
When compressors compress pure hydrogen or hydrogen-rich gas, conventional valves often cause obvious damage due to external factors.
The influence of condensate
In some devices (such as hydrodesulfurization), condensate is easy to precipitate because of the small molecular weight and high humidity of the gas. These incompletely separated liquids enter the valve with the gas, resulting in liquid hammer.

Effect of Over-Oil Lubrication
In order to ensure gas seal, many hydrogen compressors often work under over-lubricated conditions. Because of the low molecular weight of hydrogen, only part of the lubricant is carried out through the air flow, which results in a thick oil film on the surface of the valve, blocking the opening and closing of the valve. In addition, hydrogen compressors usually adopt switching gas regulation mode. When the compressor unloads, the lubricant will be discharged through the exhaust valve along with the air flow, resulting in additional impact on the exhaust valve.

The effect of impurities
Because hydrogen can not provide enough self-cleaning ability to the valve, the catalyst and other polymer dust entrained in the gas flow can easily clog the valve groove, thus reducing the efficiency of the valve and compressor.

Typical Damage Cases of Traditional Valves
Damage caused by additional impact when sealing element is opened and closed due to liquid hammer and oil stickiness
Spring fails due to strong open impact and dynamic collision between coils.
Due to the blockage of valve groove, the loss of power and exhaust temperature of compressor increase.
1
Conventional intake and exhaust valves cannot open and close normally because of oil stickiness

2
After using CX valve, the oil viscous phenomenon is obviously eliminated.
